Advanced Girl Leadership
Leader in Action (LiA)
You can be a Leader in Action by assisting a Brownie troop along their Journey! Use your organization skills or your special talents to teach Brownies something important about their Journey! More information about earning your LiA can be found in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting.
Program Aide (PA)
The Program Aide Core Training teaches the basics in leadership skills for working with a group of younger girls. Course covers teaching skills in games, crafts, songs and more! Register online in the fall and bring the PA application to the training! Apply now!
Volunteer in Training (VIT)
Program is designed for girls who want to work with younger Girl Scout troops outside of the camp experience. Girls will complete a 6-hour training course then a 3-6 month VIT project with a troop of their choice.
Community Service Bars
1 Per Level: Cadette, Senior, Ambassador
Choose an organization you’d like to volunteer with and provide at least 20 hours of service to the organization. Service needs to be approved in advance!
Service to Girl Scouting Bar
1 Per Level: Cadette, Senior, Ambassador
To earn your Service to Girl Scouting Bar you will need to provide at least 20 hours of service in a Girl Scout capacity. Volunteer at an event for younger girls, be an office assistant for the Council or community team or help with special projects and younger girl troop meetings to earn your hours.
If you have earned your CIT 1 you can work with younger girls over the course of at least one camp session while focused on increasing your skills in one specific area – such as riding instruction, lifeguarding or the arts.
The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout Junior can earn. The award represents your commitment to making a difference in your community. It offers you a unique opportunity to affect powerful, positive change AND, by choosing to take this step and by being an active member of your community, you are saying “I CAN make a difference.”
Most importantly you choose a project that interests you. Where is your passion? What do you want to say? What will be your legacy to your community? The choices are only limited by your imagination and determination.
The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. This award represents your commitment to making a difference in your community. It offers you a unique opportunity to affect powerful, positive change AND, by choosing to take this step and by being an active member of your community, you are saying “ I CAN make a difference.”

Past Silver projects have increased environmental awareness and provided healthy after school alternatives for local youth. The choices are only limited by your imagination and determination.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Girls who earn this award show their courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award that Girl Scout Seniors and Girl Scout Ambassadors can earn. Fulfilling the requirements for the Girl Scout Gold Award starts with completing two Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador Journeys, or having earned the Silver Award and completing one Senior or Ambassador Journey. Each Journey you complete gives you the skills you need to plan and implement your Take Action project.
Come to a Meeting!
The Gold Award Support Committee meets every third Wednesday of the month. Proposal must be submitted two weeks prior to the meeting date to be reviewed. Meetings are at our Bedford Service Center or can be setup online via video conference.
