A retired Army Captain and Blackhawk pilot, Dawn holds degrees from Lafayette College and Troy State. The Pennsylvania native earned an ROTC scholarship after becoming the first female Battalion Commander in her school’s history. After college, Dawn attended flight school in Ft. Rucker, AL, where she earned her wings as a helicopter pilot to fly both the UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk. From there, Dawn was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO as a platoon leader and pilot in command for the 4th Infantry Division, 4th Combined Aviation Brigade. She was then deployed to Somalia and promoted to Captain. After returning to Alabama, she completed an Army Aviation Advanced Course and was assigned with the 5-501st Aviation Battalion at Camp Wonju, Republic of South Korea: an Apache Battalion on a South Korean Air Base where she served as a personnel officer and UH-60 pilot. Upon returning to the States, Dawn returned to Ft. Rucker, where she served as Brigade S-1, 1st Aviation Brigade and Chief, Officer Management for the Commanding General’s State Officer, until her discharge. After leaving the military life behind her, Dawn worked as a corporate recruiter and an outdoor environmental science teacher, among other things, before coming to GSGWM. She lives in Merrimack.
